My first client, Christal Moss was quite the entrepreneur. With five companies under her belt she approached me in need of quite a few logos. All of her companies at the time fell under a parent company, Christal Entertainment Communications. At the time these companies were: Christal Entertainment Communications & Gurene Publishing, Moss Catering, Design It, Knot 2 Worry Weddings, and Private Chef.
I understood that each business would stand out on its own eventually so the logo I created for CEC was focused on the services offered by CEC specifically.
CEC offered a variety of services in regards to the Entertainment Industry: artist development and management, vocal instructions, song writing and publishing, marketing and distribution, producing, recording, makeup artistry, model management, basic etiquette training, choir direction, live entertainment, DJ services and event planning. Just to name a few!
I tackled the color scheme first since she didn't have one in place. After gathering the type of vibe she wanted to give off I then showed her some fonts to choose from to help brand her company.
When it came time to develop concepts for the logo I focused on how the company started. Christal is a performer. She at the time performed with a band across Columbus, The Jazz Sounds of Christal. So I honed in on musical instruments as inspiration.
